•In resin-impregnated transformers, the windings are first wound with insulating paper or similar material, which is then impregnated with a resin (typically a vacuum pressure impregnation or VPI process) to ensure that the insulation is thoroughly saturated with the resin. The impregnation process ensures that the resin fully penetrates the windings.
